Camp Sacramento is two hours east of Sacramento off Highway 50 just west of Echo Summit at an elevation of 6600 feet. Nestled in the tall trees of the Sierra Nevada, Camp Sacramento’s refinished wooden dance floor and rustic small cabins are waiting for you to enjoy.
New England-based JEMS combines veteran dance musicians Ed Howe of Perpetual e-Motion on fiddle, Stuart Kenny of Tidal Wave and The Stringrays on bass with two next-generation players, Stuart’s son Matthew Kenney on percussion and Matthew’s pal Jamie Oshima on guitar, piano, and foot percussion.
The Quarks are an exciting Northwest band featuring Betsy Branch on fiddle and guitar, Bill Tomczak of The Latter Day Lizards on clarinet, saxophone and percussion, and Terry Wergeland on piano and accordion. With their mix of instruments and improvisatory natures, plus their deft interweaving of dance-music genres, you never know what to expect from this trio, other than stimulating and inventive dance music.
