The Rosin Doctors are a prescription for fun! Collectively they have around a hundred years of administering treatments to musical instruments injecting joy into parties and events. Bringing to the stage a wide variety of musical instruments the Docs present a wide variety of traditional and new music to any happening. The Rosin Doctors are: Dan Engle administers shots of fiddle, guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin and claw hammer banjo; Erik Hoffman provides weekly and daily checkups on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, Jews harp, the Spanish bagpipe (gaita), and percussion; and Topher Gayle operates with surgical precision on mandolin, mandola, mandinator (an instrument he makes!), guitar, percussion and … More Cowbell. Together they provide doses of music that lift the spirits and get the blood flowing.

There will be a potluck dinner at 6:30 pm before the evening contra dance. Please bring a food item with serving utensils to share. We will provide plates, napkins and utensils! Bring your own beverage.

A newcomer’s orientation is offered at 7:30PM, perfect for people who have not contra danced before, or who could use some refresher. Experienced dancers are invited to partner with newcomers during the orientation and early dances to help integrate them into the community.

No partners are needed, so come by yourself or with friends or with family. Potluck snacks are available at the break, and we encourage you to bring something to share. These events are accessible to people with disabilities.
